First of All, for those who don’t know me yet, my name is Michael Jones. I’m 24 years old and I have a confession to make.
I am not magic.
Luck Does Not Run In My Veins
I had just started my own small real estate firm in rural Eastern North Carolina. I had moved here from Kansas City after graduating college two days earlier, determined to make my mom and dad proud of me.
Looking back, I can clearly see the errors of my ways in moving half-way across the country to get started in the high-flying career of selling real estate, but I had come here on a tip, and I was determined to make a name for myself fresh out of college.
When I started out in this business, I was, admittedly, foolish. At this period in my life, I was a hot-headed know-it-all who couldn’t be taught the “lessons of life” very easily. I had it all figured out.
I Was A Hot-Headed, Stubborn, Know-It-All
Needless to say, I was brought down to reality pretty darn quick. No one likes to do business with a know-it-all prick who acts better than the world. That’s just the way it is.
One of my biggest problems starting out in real estate was that I did not plan for my lack of paying clients. When I made no commissions, I used my credit cards to live off of. A very rough situation. My self-confidence was disappearing quickly.
I Was Sinking Fast
Before I found this little known secret, I was in debt up to my eyeballs! I had over $25,000 in credit card debt, over $90,000 in College Loans, $200,000 on a small house in rural Eastern North Carolina, and I felt like I was drowning.
I Was Scared Out Of My Mind
I would come home at night so exhausted from carting around “clients” (they had NO INTENTION of buying) and showing homes that I literally wanted to die. How could I have been so foolish to have so much debt? I had bill collectors calling me, harassing me, calling me every name in the book to get me to pay up! I just wasn’t able to do it.
Would That Feeling Of Despair Ever Disappear?
It was the most awful, most hopeless feeling I’ve ever felt! I’m sure many of you reading this right now are feeling the same way. You don’t know where to turn, how to make it out of the hole you’re in. I’ve been in your shoes, and I completely understand where you’re coming from.
I Went Home For Christmas A Beaten Newbie
I flew home to Kansas City for Christmas 2 years ago, a completely destroyed man. I tried to keep my spirits up for the sake of my family, but I felt like such a failure. I had credit card debt bigger than most mountains. I struggled to look at myself in the mirror most mornings, and I just felt like I was done living. Failure had become my middle name.
Christmas was a rough time for me. I tried to put a smile on my face, but I knew everyone saw through my fake smile. What was I going to do? Christmas Day came and went, and I boarded my plane to head home to North Carolina two days later.
The Return Plane Trip Changed My Life
I sat beside an older gentleman, in his late fifties, a pleasant smile on his face. He looked at me as the plane took off with sympathy in his eyes.
“What’s the matter, Son?” The man asked.
“I’m A Real Estate Agent, But I Feel Like Such A Failure”
It turns out fate was on my side that day. The man I was sitting next to was an executive in a rather large, influential company. He had worked for them for many years and prospered.
“You need to use what I used when I was just about your age,” the man said. “It’s called The Law Of Exclusivity.”
“What’s that?” I asked.
“It’s a very powerful Law. One that very few people know about, but if they do, they catapult to success almost immediately. They become unstoppable.”

Then it hit me. I had maxed out my credit card. No more spending for me. I had two options. Sell a house or file bankruptcy. There were no other options.

I started to implement the plan as quickly as possible. I was scared and stressed as you can imagine, so I made a lot of mistakes along the way. One of the things that worked for me at this point was my sincere humility. I wanted to do the very best job for my clients, and they sent me through the roof in sales.
Within one month, I had 3 sales pending, and by the end of the second month, I had 5 closings. The creditors had stopped hassling me.
I was free for now. As we all know, though, sometimes we spend more effort avoiding pain than seeking pleasure. I wasn’t about to do that. I know you wouldn’t do that either. At least not intentionally.
